Our herb garden

Anna and I designed an herb garden this spring.

It was a nice bonding activity, and, apparently it's also a bit of therapy for me.

After a mishap with Dave tripping over and breaking three of my signs, when I repaired one, I glued it upside down.

Anna won't let me fix it.

Quarantine Olympics

I saw some Tik Tok videos of this family doing Quarantine Olympics and decided we had to replicate the idea here.

We picked some silly competitions and started competing a few competitions a night.
Who can drink the fastest? The kids got to team up.
Who's best at catching a potato with a fork?
Who can grab the most paper as if falls off the ceiling fan?
Who can slide a cookie from their forehead into their mouth first?

Here we have the first, second, and third place winners from the ice maker challenge,
which tested who could get the closest to ten ice cubes in their glass with only one push.

Being around my kids All. The. Time

It was ten o'clock.

Ten o-freaking-clock.

I just wanted to sleep.

We'd had a good evening. We'd done a few games of Family Quarantine Olympics, had book club, and some of the kids and Dave had played this computer game they love. Earlier in the day we'd made homemade butter two different ways and used it to bake corn bread.

Ally was hanging out in my bed pretending she was going to be sleeping there.

I told her it was time to leave.

She whined.

I said, "Ally, I love you. We've had a good day. But, I'm tired. I just want to be alone and I want to sleep."

She replied, "You should never have even had kids if you never want to be around them."
