Ally's spirit animal

I'm not sure where they even heard of the concept of a spirit animal, but they all read so much that I don't always know what they're into.

The other morning, Luke said, "My spirit animal is a butterfly!"

Ally said, "Mine is, too!"

Luke replied, "No, we can't have the same one."

Anna tried to pacify them by insisting, "You can.  You're twins."

But Luke still looked disgruntled.  Ally thought for a moment and declared,
"My spirit animal is a meal worm."

Spring soccer

Yesterday Luke's soccer team played in 37 degree rain.  It was miserable.

He learned  from yesterday, I guess, because I found he was well prepared for today.

I'm not going to focus on how no one should have to dress like this in the middle of May.

Spring Recitals

Kate and Anna's teacher had a big (warm!) recital a couple weeks ago.    

Anna looked terrified, but played beautifully.

 For Kate, this recital business is old hat.  It must be her ninth.

Luke and Ally started piano with S, an eighth grader and lovely teacher, a few months ago.  

And Anna began with her a couple weeks ago. 

They had their recital last weekend.

It was Luke and Ally's first ever recital, and Anna's first at the piano.

Nailed It!

The kids and I found a show called Nailed It on Netflix.  

It's not all that well done of a show, but it made us laugh, 

so we watched the season over the course of the last few weeks.

Kate decided it would be fun to reenact the show in our kitchen.  

She set up a challenge for us, made a shopping list for me, 

and we had our own competition.  

Ally and I teamed up, and Kate and Anna were on their own.  

Dave and Luke judged.  

Kate came in first, but Anna and Ally/I were close seconds.
