This fall, I enrolled in a Parent Coach training program to get some new approaches to use when working with families. We had to read four books for the program. Since I'm a slow reader, I was constantly carrying one or more of the books and a highlighter with me to try to read the weekly assignments.
One night, we were all getting ready for bed and I carried a book with me and set it on the bathroom counter to help Ally wash her hair in the shower.
A naked Anna appeared in the bathroom and announced, "It's working!"
"What's working?" I asked.
"Your book. I got my room clean and got ready for my shower without being asked!"
Still confused, I followed her gaze and saw the book titled, "Motivate Your Child."
